is Pawna Lake officially open?
If we talk specifically about Pawna Lake camps and resorts, the current situation is different. Let us understand what is open and who can run the business.
Rooms, Cottages, Bungalows, and Farms are open after the lockdown but the most charming Tent camping is yet to receive positive node from the government. Also, Day visitors are restricted at some places like Amby Valley route due to overcrowding at Bhushi Dam and Lions Point.
Also, Police barricades were observed at few checkpoints on entry routes of Pawna Lake but not on all days. So the overall situation is somewhat on and off.
Is Lonavala officially open?
After the first rain, Mumbaikar and Punekar rush to Lonavala hill station to enjoy the monsoon as lush green meadows are a treat to the eyes. Most important are the scenic waterfall views and the foggy weather of Lonavala attracts each and every nature lover. So no doubt that Lonavala faces traffic jams for all weekends in June & July. Obviously, same is the case with Pawna Lake. To control local Law & Order, Police try to put a barricade and checkpoints at the entry gates.
I have seen the rush which actually spoils your monsoon mood, so I suggest you guys to visit Lonavala and Pawna Lake on weekdays as the situation is comparatively better for nature-loving tourists.
Personally, I feel waiting for it, hold it, no need to rush. Let the situation ease down for the betterment of everyone. Even if you visit Lonavala or Pawna Lake, show your Booking Confirmation receipt to Police on checkpoints to easily cross it.
Don’t forget to follow Covid protocols, Wear your mask all the time. More importantly, enjoy the monsoon 2021.
